THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (September 6, 2012) – St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital (SLLH) has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” becoming one of only two hospitals in the Greater Houston area to be recognized. This is the second time SLLH has been recognized since opening in late 2009.
“National recognition for being one of the ‘Best Places to Work in Healthcare’ demonstrates St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital’s continued commitment to excellence and quality of care, not only for our patients but our employees as well,” said Debra F. Sukin, CEO, St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital and St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, and Senior Vice President, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System. “Our exceptional work environment is fostered by our staff working diligently every day while respecting and learning from one another.”
SLLH offers inpatient and outpatient services on the campus of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. SLLH is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, as well as providing the highest level of care and expertise in orthopedic/spine surgery and sports medicine.
“Modern Healthcare congratulates the 100 organizations named as the 2012 Best Places to Work in Healthcare,” said Fawn Lopez, vice president and publisher of Modern Healthcare. “These healthcare employers are models for others who are seeking to build a culture of support and engagement, resulting in optimum performance levels and multiple benefits for patients and customers.”
Nominations were open to all healthcare companies in the United States with at least 25 employees. Following the initial nomination, Modern Healthcare collected information from both the employer and employees. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies/practices, benefits and demographics and employees were asked an in-depth series of questions that resulted in an analysis of eight core areas.
