St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital receives the “Exemplary Five Star Award” for Second Consecutive Year
For a second consecutive year, St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital (SLWH) has been awarded the “Exemplary Five Star Award” for vital statistics by the Texas Public Health Association.
The award recognizes excellence in birth registry. According to Mike Praetorius, director of Patient Access Services at SLWH, the five criteria for the Exemplary Five Star Award include: timeliness of releasing the birth certificate to the state; accuracy of the birth certificate; undergoing training at Vital Statistics Conference; receiving an award for completion of Acknowledgment of Paternity; and excellence in ImmTrac performance. Minimum requirements are that 95 percent of birth registration releases are completed within five days of birth. St. Luke's achieved a 99.78 percent success rate. ImmTrac performance standards represent that 95 percent of the ImmTrac consent forms are properly submitted and completed. St. Luke's scored 100 percent. Only 43 hospitals in Texas achieved the Exemplary Five Star Award.
“We are honored to have once again earned such a prestigious award,” said Debbie Sukin, CEO of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital and St. Luke's Lakeside Hospital and Senior Vice President, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System. “It’s reflective of our hard work as we continuously strive to deliver the highest level of quality healthcare services. We are very proud of our birth registry team and their commitment to excellence as we have significantly enhanced our women’s and children’s services.”
