St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital Named One of “Best Places to Work in Healthcare”

St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital in The Woodlands has been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare.” Ranking healthcare organizations from across the nation, St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital is the only hospital in the Greater Houston area recognized.

“Meeting the criteria for this recognition further demonstrates our quality of care and commitment to excellence, not only for our patients, but for our employees as well,” says Debra F. Sukin, CEO of St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital and St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, and group vice president, St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System.  “We truly value our entire team and are extremely proud to be recognized nationally for the values and culture we live each day.”

With 140 employees, St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services on the main campus of St. Luke’s The Woodlands. The facility is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease, as well as to providing the highest level of care and expertise in orthopedic/spine surgery and sports medicine.

Diane Freeman, chief nursing officer for St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital adds, “The employees and physicians at St. Luke’s Lakeside Hospital work diligently every day to make sure we are offering the best care to our patients.  Our physicians and staff respect and learn from each other.  This is a significant part of what makes Lakeside Hospital a great place to work.”

Nominations were open to all healthcare companies in the U.S. with at least 25 employees. Following the initial nomination, Modern Healthcare collected information from both the employer and employees. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies/practices, benefits and demographics and employees were asked an in-depth series of questions that result in an analysis of eight core areas.
