St. Luke's Liver Health Outreach offers free hepatitis B testing. It is highly recommended that everyone receive vaccinations for hepatitis B. If you would like more information on testing or vaccinations, please call (832) 355-5119.
If you think even one risk factor applies to you, it is important to get tested for hepatitis B:
- People born in Asia, Africa or other regions with moderate or high rates of hepatitis B
- Unvaccinated people whose parents were born in Asia, Africa or other regions with high rates of hepatitis B
- Anyone having sex with a person infected with hepatitis B
- Living with a person who has been diagnosed with hepatitis B
- Men who have sexual encounters with other men
- People who use/exchange needles to inject drugs or other substances
- All pregnant women
- People with HIV
- People on hemodialysis
- People who receive chemotherapy or other types of immunosuppresive therapy
